RAGE
Inside my head
An angry man rages
And he rips away at my heart
He's captious, callous, conniving, cruel hearted
And clever as he performs his part
An angry man rages
And he rips away at my heart
He's captious, callous, conniving, cruel hearted
And clever as he performs his part
It's the shout of a man whom I knew in my youth
A shout that is far too familiar
A shout that I loathe
That I have strived to forget
But, a shout I woefully remember
A shout that is far too familiar
A shout that I loathe
That I have strived to forget
But, a shout I woefully remember
I recall warm summers skipping rocks at the bayou
Grand times that are tainted by you
Because even at your best
Lived a rage in your chest
A rage I fear I inherited from you
Grand times that are tainted by you
Because even at your best
Lived a rage in your chest
A rage I fear I inherited from you
It sits with me still- such great confusion
The way you could feel such disdain for a child
The way you would smirk as I sob
Throw my shit on the lawn
The more I wept- the brighter you'd smile
The way you could feel such disdain for a child
The way you would smirk as I sob
Throw my shit on the lawn
The more I wept- the brighter you'd smile
So the rage inside you
Inraged a fire in me too
When the apple fell it was covered in blood
But in that raging fire
Beats the heart of a child
A child who just wanted to be loved
Inraged a fire in me too
When the apple fell it was covered in blood
But in that raging fire
Beats the heart of a child
A child who just wanted to be loved
