CHURCH MARQUEE

I plead for a message to grant my mind ease
From the cosmos, or heavens, or the powers that be
Am I on the right track?
Is this the life I should lead?
Is there even a point?
What does it all mean?
I forge for the answers
In the books that I read
They say that god is in man, in fish, and in trees
But as soon as it clicks
The thought comes to me
What if I’m not open minded- just a bit too naive?
But not before long
Questions again start to ring
When I go for a drive on a dreary spring eve
I coast down the street on the land that raised me
Where off in the distance is a picturesque scene
A delicate church sits on idyllic green
Right past the bridge
Above the sun gleaming creek
And just before the winding hill comes to its peak
Displayed in the distance is the message I seek
Delivered by letters on a dust stained marquee
I take the curve
Slow down as I read
The simplest answer- but all that I need
Black and white letters
“SEEK GOD AND FIND PEACE”
