THE DANCER
She was born with such original sin
They had to baptize her twice
It is said that they left a touch sin on her skin
And that they should've bathed her thrice
They had to baptize her twice
It is said that they left a touch sin on her skin
And that they should've bathed her thrice
There is a darkness that is within her they say
Yet I've never seen a darkness so bright
Many judge her confident gait
Because she is a red rose in a garden of white
Yet I've never seen a darkness so bright
Many judge her confident gait
Because she is a red rose in a garden of white
She dances without concern for the world
No one's critique could pique her interest
And I, for one, feel a likeness to her
Albeit she dances so different
No one's critique could pique her interest
And I, for one, feel a likeness to her
Albeit she dances so different
With eyes open wide one should see striking beauty
Should only they see her as clearly as me
Her soul as rare as a precious jewel
A depth in likeness to open sea
Should only they see her as clearly as me
Her soul as rare as a precious jewel
A depth in likeness to open sea
Many disparaged by this life of the cruel
She stays as tender as the song that she sings
And I just observe, take in every turn
A maiden mare- frolicking in the spring
She stays as tender as the song that she sings
And I just observe, take in every turn
A maiden mare- frolicking in the spring
