THE REASON

I move so fast
Because the loves never last
And many say that may be the reason
But what they don't know
Is what I know in my soul
I too often commit acts of self treason
It’s the intimacy that frightens me
So I seek out flaws unintentionally
And not an ounce of guilt is felt when I leave them
I know that it will all soon be gone
That's why I do tightly hold on
And embrace it as I traipse through its season
For when it comes to its inevitable end
It comes softly, and with no blame on them
As I know it's the love I can't seem to be in
So I do not condemn
The speed at which I move in
When I know that it’s me- I am the reason
